Mumbai: The Passage of Citizenship Amendment Bill (CAB) in both the Houses has created a lot of unrest with nationwide protests in India. Jamia Milia Islamia University students staged a protest which soon turned violent when police entered the campus leading to chaos.

A Hindi news channel reported that the students of the university misbehaved with their correspondents and even posted a video about the same.

CAB and Jamia University protests soon became trending topics on twitter. A Twiter user, Hemir Desai tweeted about the video by the Hindi news channel on December 16 and tagged personalities like Javed Akhtar, Farhan Akhtar, Arfa Khanum Sherwani, Barkha Dutt, Rahul Gandhi, Priyanka Gandhi, and Rajdeep Sardesai.

In reply to the tweet, Javed Akthar said that according to the law of land, under any circumstances police cannot enter any university campus without the permission of the university authorities. He also added that by entering Jamia campus without permission the police has created a precedent that is a threat to every university.

His tweet created a lot of buzz in twitter as Twitterati responded to his tweet including IPS officer, Sandeep Mittal, and another police officer Pranav Mahajan mocking his legal knowledge.
