It as gathered that the hospital staff administered Chanchalakshi with an injection after which her condition worsened. Moreover, the doctor, she was consulting was not around at the time and had arrived late at the hospital.

Keeping in view her health condition the doctors – Dr Bharati Shetty and Dr Shashikala – advised the family to shift her to a hospital in Mangaluru and made arrangements for her to be taken in an ambulance. However, by the time she reached the hospital, Chanchalakshi had passed away.
