Subrahmanya: Train services on the Mangaluru-Bengaluru route have resumed after being halted due to a landslide between Sakleshpur and Ballupete in the Mysuru division.

The removal of debris from the tracks was completed by Monday evening. Authorities confirmed that the railway line had been restored for safe passage.

Services that were suspended as per Bulletin No. 3 on August 17 have now resumed, with all trains running on schedule. However, a speed limit has been imposed at the landslide site.

Repeated landslides had disrupted train services on this route. On August 16, a landslide near Sakleshpur had disrupted train operations. Although efforts were immediately initiated to clear the debris, continuous landslides hampered the work. The debris was eventually cleared from the upper portion of the hill, allowing the reopening of the track. Earlier, on August 9, another landslide had caused a halt in services in the same area. Before that, a landslide between Yedakumeri and Kadagaravalli on July 26 had resulted in a 12-day suspension of train services.
