Decision of gathering MLAs at resort for RS elections not driven by fear: MB Patil
PTI, Feb 25, 2024, 12:35 PM IST
Minister MB Patil weighed in on the Congress party’s recent strategy of gathering its MLAs at a resort before the Rajya Sabha elections. He clarified that the decision was not driven by fears of cross-voting but aimed to foster unity within the party ranks.
“We have complete confidence in all our party MLAs, and there is no apprehension of cross-voting,” Patil affirmed. “However, the decision to gather at the resort was made to foster unity and solidarity among our members.”
Responding to queries about potential opposition in the upper house regarding the presentation of a religious bill, Patil acknowledged differing opinions but emphasized the priority of the people and the state. “While there may be divergent views, the cabinet will deliberate on issuing an ordinance in the best interest of the public and the state,” he asserted.
