Mangaluru: District in-charge minister Kota Srinivas Poojary has said that whether the Maravoor bridge can be repaired or should it be reconstructed will be decided soon after an experts committee submits its report.

Speaking after inspecting the bridge on Tuesday, he said that Rs 50 crore had already been sanctioned to extend the bridge with a four-lane road and the new bridge being constructed nearby will be ready before February 2022.

“Plans were underway to repair the bridge before the extension works. However, now as the bridge has developed cracks, a decision about its future will be taken after the experts’ committee report,” the minister said.
