Decomposed man’s body found under mysterious circumstances beneath Chokkabettu Bridge

Mangaluru: The decomposed body of a man was body found under mysterious circumstances beneath Chokkabettu Bridge in Surathkal on the morning of Saturday June 2nd.

The deceased has been identified as Mariyappa, aged 45-50 years, from Kabbaragi, Koppal.

The decomposed body was found in a drainage channel under the Chokkabettu bridge on Suratkal-Krishnapura road. The body was decomposed and a sack and some clothes were found covering the body.

Sources claim that the body was the body was found to be dismembered and stuffed into the sack, but this is yet to be confirmed.

Police commissioner and other police officers visited the spot. Police said that prima facie, it seemed like a case of murder. The body has been shifted to the mortuary.
