Shivamogga: Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa on Friday said that the state’s economy is in deep trouble as revenue has declined for the past 8 months and tax collections have also decreased.
Speaking to the reporters, Yeduyirappa said, “Despite the state being in financial distress, I have tried my best to indulge in developmental works. However, we have requested funds from the Centre and the issue will be resolved soon. Also, if required, we will soon announce another package.”
Talking about Covid-19 situation in the state, he said, ” I have instructed the officers to bring down the positivity rate to less than five per cent. We believe that extending the lockdown for a week will help in controlling the spread.”
