Deep sea fishing trip: 8 fishermen go missing

Udupi: A boat which had left from Malpe bunder on a deep sea fishing expedition has gone missing since a week. The 8 member crew aboard the vessel are also missing.
It is being said that a boat identified as Suvarna Teibhuja had left from Malpe Bunder for fishing on Dec 13th at 11 pm in the night. This vessel carried a crew of 8 persons.
The boat which had ventured into the deep sea for fishing remained in contact till 1 am in the night of Dec 15th. It is being said that then, all contact to the vessel was lost. Though much search has been conducted, neither the boat nor its 8 crew members have been located.
The missing fishermen are identified as he boat owner Chandrashekar and fishermen Damodara, Kaxman, Ravi, Harish, Ramesh and Jogayya.
In the backdrop of not being able to locate the missing boat or its crew, the Indian Coast Guard is now trying to locate the missing persons and the boat. A case has been registered in this connection at Maple police station.
