Defence minister to visit Malpe in March; Fishermen meeting

  • Fishermen delegation meets defence minister Nirmala

Udupi: A fishermen’s delegation led by MLA K Raghupati Bhat met with the defence minister Nirmala Seethraman in Bengaluru on Sunday and urged the minister to safely bring back the mysteriously missing deep sea trawler Suvarna Tribuja along with her crew of 7 fishermen.

Responding in favour to the demand, the defence minister said that she will visit Malpe by March 5th accompanied by navy officials, hold a meeting with the fishermen regarding the future operation and the action to be taken, she assured.

Pejawar Seer urges

On the occasion, MLA Raghupati Bhat gae a call ti Pejawar Seer and asked him to speak with the defence minister. The Seer spoke with Nirmala and urged the defence minister to take quick action in connection to the safety of the fishermen.
