Bengaluru: Deputy Chief Minister and Higher Education Minister Dr CN Ashwath Narayan said on Wednesday that physical classes of graduate colleges will commence from 26 of this month as 75 per cent of students in the higher education sector have been vaccinated.

He was speaking to reporters after attending a virtual send-off ceremony for athletes participating in the Tokyo Olympic Games.

“The vaccination program for students is picking up pace. All students over the age of 18 who are attending government and aided colleges are being vaccinated. In addition, the vaccine is also being administered to teaching and non-teaching staff,” the DyCM said.

He reiterated that all students who are planning to attend physical classes must get the first dose of the vaccine soon as it is being made available to all for free.
