Dharwad: In relation to the row over the alleged deletion of minority community voters from the voters’ list through an unauthorized survey, Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai has clarified the matter by saying that ‘it is far from truth’.
Addressing the media on Friday, December 2 at the Hubbali Airport, he said, “The information on the deletion of minority voters specifically from the voters’ list is far from the truth. Already the matter is being dealt with by both the Karnataka State Election Commission and the Election Commission of India (ECI). If such complaints are received, then an inquiry should be carried out.”
“Illegal addition of voters in the voters’ list has also taken place. There are people who have dual voters ID. The EC must look into such matters”, he added.
