Bengaluru: State’s Minister for Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs K. Gopalaiah speaking at the Vidhan Soudha on May 26 stated that the centre has taken a major decision to provide rations to even those who do not have ration cards.
He explained that he said that those who do not have ration cards will be given 10 kilograms of rice for 2 months. 5 kilograms of rice would be given to each person this month, and another 5 next month. 2 kg of peanuts too will be distributed per family.
“This scheme is applicable to all those who do not have a ration card. By showing their Aadhaar card, migrants, labourers and local residents too can get rations,” the minister added.
