Demand of Sirsi as separate district is brought to notice of CM: Speaker Kageri

Sirsi: Karnataka Legislative Assembly Speaker Vishweshwar Hegde Kageri has said that the confusion regarding the bifurcation of Sirsi as a separate district from Uttara Kannada district in terms of topography and development was brought to the notice of Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai.

Addressing the gathering at the ESI hospital inauguration ceremony on Tuesday, December 6 he said, “There is a demand for Sirsi as a separate district like that of Udupi, Yadgir, Koppal, Gadag, and several other districts. Sirsi has spread wider, and the demand of the people will be fulfilled by the government at the right time.”

Chairperson of Totgars’ Co-operative Sale Society Limited (TSS), Ramakrishna Hegde Kadave, President of City Municipal Council Ganpathi Naik, and others was present.
