- No importance to cleanliness
- Administration not waking up
Belthangady: The surroundings around KSRTC bus stand in Ujire is overrun by garbage and has resulted as a dengue disease creation centre. A lot of localities have now either been introduced to dengue or are receiving treatment as the result of the introduction.
Passengers in the bus stand carelessly discard their water bottles, plastic garbage, and other things thereby not only spoiling Ujire’s beauty but also spoiling the health of people. This place resembles closer to a dumping yard and though this issue has been brought in front of the officials, it has been to no avail. This situation is also abundant behind some hotels and lodges and the localities have demanded quick action against this.
Notice for disposal
Garbage is being effectively collected from homes, shops, and offices daily by the Ujire Gram Panchayat.
The garbage behind the KSRTC bus stand has been noticed and a direction has been given to take action for its disposal. It has been directed to keep dustbins within the bus stand for the benefit of the passengers and to give the garbage-filled dustbins to the garbage disposal vehicle of the gram panchayat, informed Gayathri P., PDO, Ujire Gram Panchayat.
