Bengaluru: The due date for government divisions to indicate consistence with a Supreme Court order to modify position of workers after a law that gave SC/STs reservation in advancement was set on April 16 by Chief Secretary K Ratna Prabha. But the decision was struck around by the top court.
In a circular she issued on Wednesday, Ratna Prabha guided departments to take “consequential action” on the Supreme Court mandate and change the seniority list of representatives and set up a list of workers who will confront demotions.
In the month of February 2017, the apex court had requested that every significant promotions given to the representatives having a place with SC/STs under the Karnataka Determination of Seniority of the Government Servants Promoted on the Basis of Reservation (To the Posts in the Civil Services of the State) Act, 2002, will be invalid and void.
This is set to influence about 20,000 workers crosswise over 63 departments and 132 organizations. An equivalent number will be promoted.
