Deve Gowda to receive Maharshi Valmiki Award

Bengaluru: The state government decided to confer the Sri Maharshi Valmiki award for the year 2018-19 to former prime minister H D Deve Gowda. 

Chief minister H D Kumaraswamy will be presenting the award to H D Deve Gowda.

The award also contains a cash prize of Rs 5 lakh and a citation during the Valmiki Jayanti celebrations organised by the Social Welfare department in Vidhana Soudha. 

Social Welfare Minister Priyank Kharge on Tuesday personally invited him to the award ceremony.
