DGM along with three others arrested for cheating Manipal Group of Rs 62 crore

Bengaluru: The Cubbon Park police has arrested the deputy general manager of Manipal Education and Medical Group (MEMG), his wife and two other women allegedly for syphoning off Rs 62 crore from the privately-held conglomerate. 

The arrested are Sandeep Gururaj (38), Deputy general manager (DGM) of MEMG, his wife, Charusmita (30),  Dr Shivaram resident of Karanth road in Chikkakallasandra, Meera Changappa (59), a resident of Koramangala seventh block main, and her daughter, Amrita Changappa (32).

Ranjan Pai and Shruti Pai, Company directors had lodged a complaint against the four in this regard.

These four diverted money from the company’s bank account to their personal accounts and Rs 1.81 crores has been seized from the accused, informed police sources. 

The accused also bought various properties with the looted money and the police have launched an investigation against the accused informed  D Devaraj DCP of Central division.
