Dharwad: A 12-year-old girl was killed after a power cable fell on her at Parasapur village in Kalghatgi taluk on July 15.
The deceased has been identified as Simran Banu Badiger. The incident took place when she was washing utensils in front of her house.
Reportedly, a power line snapped and fell on her, she tried to run away but could not.
“This is not first such incident, in a span of five years, ten deaths have been reported in the taluk. If any dangling cable or danger is noticed, people should immediately alert the police or HESCOM staff,” police officer in Kalghatagi was quoted speaking to The New Indian Express.
