Dharwad HC issues interim stay on FIR against Chakraborty Sulibele over CM Siddaramaiah comments

The Dharwad High Court has issued a temporary halt on the FIR lodged against Chakraborty Sulibele for allegedly making objectionable statements against Chief Minister Siddaramaiah.
The controversy arose during Sulibele’s visit to a temple on October 3, where he claimed that every time Siddaramaiah assumed power, Hindus faced difficulties. Sulibele further alleged that such issues would persist until the Chief Minister extended support to the Muslim community.
Subsequently, a complaint was filed against Sulibele at the Karwar rural station on October 5. In response, Sulibele submitted an application seeking the quashing of the filed FIR.
The case was examined by Justice Sivashankar Amarannavar, who headed a single-judge bench. The judge expressed the opinion that further inquiry into the matter was necessary. As a result, an interim stay on the FIR has been granted, and the hearing has been adjourned for future proceedings.
