Dharwad: In a shocking incident, a young man was reportedly forced to work with an iron chain tied to his leg in Old Mulla Dhaba, Hosategur, Dharwad, allegedly over repayment of a loan taken by his father.

Arunkumar Yadav (50) from Venkatapur had been working at the Old Dhaba along with his son, Kiran Kumar Yadav (26), for the past four years. During a financial crisis, Arunkumar borrowed Rs 1 lakh from the Dhaba owner.

When Arunkumar stopped showing up at work, the owner allegedly took extreme measures, chaining Kiran Kumar to his leg and forcing him to work at the Dhaba to repay the debt.

Upon learning of the incident, SDharwad SP Dr. Gopal Backode visited the location and issued orders for appropriate action.
