Mangaluru: Sleuths of the Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) at the Mangaluru International Airport confiscated diamonds worth Rs 2.60 crore being illegally smuggled to Dubai from India.
Two passengers, identified as Anas and Ammar of Bhatkal, have been arrested. The diamonds were found hidden in their shoes and bag to avoid detection, DRI officials said.
The diamonds were discovered during a routine inspection at the Immigration section at the airport.
It is gathered that the duo had bought the diamonds from Mumbai. Meanwhile, both have been taken into custody.
