DICC Champions Trophy 2022: Kundapur’s Prithviraj Shetty makes India team

Kundapur: Indian team for the T20 cricket tournament, Deaf ICC Champions Trophy 2022, has left for Dubai. Kundapur-based Prithviraj Shetty Hunchani secured a place in the 15-member Indian squad and is hoping to find a place in the playing XI.

Prithviraj is the only Kannadiga in the Indian squad.

DICC Champions Trophy which begins on October 1, will see participation from India, South Africa, Bangladesh, Pakistan, and Australia. India will face Pakistan (October 2), South Africa (October 4), Bangladesh (October 5), and Australia (October 7).

The 31-year-old, Prithviraj, is a resident of Hunchani in Golihole village near Kollur in Byndoor taluk. He is the son of Late Subhash Chandra Shetty and Sheelavathi.
