Vijayapura: BJP leader and MLA Basanagouda Patil Yatnal issued a clarification about the controversy surrounding his abstention during the inauguration of Vijaya Sankalpa Yatra and said that he did not deliberately skip the program attended by BJP National president J P Nadda in the city.
“I did not deliberately skip the event… I had spoken to Nadda and was absent after taking permission,” he said.
Yatnal dismissed the media reports about the party serving him notice demanding an explanation about his behavior as blatantly false. He said that had not received any notice from the party.
He further said that he would refrain from commenting about former Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa. “On the advise od senior party leaders, I have decided not to say anything about Yediyuappa. Don’t ask me anything about him,” he said and added that it was “not a political compromise” but the respect for the instructions of party command.
