Diesel tanker-bike accident: Biker chared to death, pillion rider severely injured

Harapanahalli: In a diesel tanker-bike accident that occurred on Sunday morning on the Kanchikeri-Bendigeri state highway, a biker has been charred to death.
The deceased is identified as Nagraj (32), a resident of Harapanahalli of Hagaribommanahalli taluk.
Pillion rider Chandru (38), a resident of Hampapattana of Hagaribommanahalli taluk has suffered serious injuries. He is currently being treated at the Government General Hospital of the taluk.
As per the reports, a diesel tanker was traveling from Davangere towards Harapanahalli. On the same route, Nagraj and Chandru were returning from fieldwork at Harapanahalli. Meanwhile, the tanker toppled after losing control due to a sloppy area on the highway. Within minutes, the tanker had gone up in flames. As Nagraj and Chandru were in proximity, the flame engulfed the bike, leaving Nagraj charred. Chandru had suffered severe injuries.
Later, the firefighters rushed to the spot to douse the flames.
CPI Nagaraj Kammar assessed the situation and a case has been registered at Harapanahalli Police Station.
