Bengaluru: All India Congress has named Dinesh Gundu Rao as Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) president. He was the working leader of KPCC in-charge for South Karnataka before this.
48-year-old Gundu Rao is five-time MLA from Gandhinagar in Bengaluru. Dinesh Gundu Rao will assume control from Dr G Parameshwara who was the leader of KPCC till now.
Rao’s arrangement comes when the Congress is hoping to pick up the help and votes of those from communities.
In the run-up to the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, the Congress is hoping to utilize Rao’s hierarchical abilities to keep the party together in what could be an assembled battle with the JD(S) against the BJP.
It is trusted that former chief minister Siddaramaiah had campaigned for Dinesh Gundu Rao.
