Health and District In-charge Minister, Dinesh Gundurao, emphasized the importance of proactive measures to ensure adequate drinking water supply during the summer.

Holding a meeting with officials at the DC office on Saturday morning, Minister Gundurao stressed the need for readiness to tackle any potential water scarcity issues. Currently, Dakshina Kannada district does not face any drinking water shortages.

However, Minister Gundurao underscored the importance of making necessary arrangements to address any future challenges. He assured that precautionary measures have already been initiated in the district to mitigate potential water supply disruptions.

Emphasizing the priority given to drinking water supply, Minister Gundurao highlighted the importance of utilizing various water sources, including Netravati River’s AMR dam if necessary. He called for cooperation from major industries in the district, such as M.R.P.L. and SEZ, to ensure adequate water availability.

Minister Gundurao reiterated the government’s commitment to addressing drinking water issues promptly and urged authorities to respond immediately to public concerns. Additionally, he mentioned the availability of a Rs 3 crore grant in the Dakshina Kannada district administration’s drought relief fund, with assurances of further assistance if required.
