Dist admin pays tributes to Mahatma Gandhi on 151st birth anniversary

Mangaluru: The district administration on Friday paid tributes to Mahatma Gandhi on his 151th birth anniversary here at Mahatma Gandhi Park.
After garlanding the statue of Mahatma Gandhi, District in-charge minister Kota Srinivas Poojary said that Gandhiji believed in principles of ahimsa (non-violence).
Further he mentioned that the Swachh Bharat campaign announced by PM Narendra Modi, in the year 2014 is in line with Gandhiji’s vision of a clean India.
District Deputy Commissioner Dr Rajendra K V, Mayor Diwakar, Zilla Panchayat CEO Dr Selvamani were among those present on the occasion.
