District administration pays tribute to victims of Mangaluru air crash

Mangaluru:  District administration on Saturday paid tributes to the victims of the Air India Express crash at Mangaluru International Airport in 2010 which claimed the lives of 158 people

District in-charge minister Kota Srinivas Poojary placed a wreath and offered floral tributes at the memorial for the victims

MP Nalin Kumar Kateel, MLA Vedavyasa Kamath, deputy commissioner Dr K V Rajendra, and assistant commissioner Madan and others too offered floral tributes at the memorial.

On May 22, 2010, Air India Express IX 812 flight from Dubai overshot the runway, crashed into the gorge bordering the airport and burst into flames, killing 152 passengers and all the six crew members while eight passengers had a miraculous escape.
