District administration withdraws weekend curfew in Udupi; other restrictions to continue

Udupi: District administration on Friday, September 10 announced the lifting of weekend curfew in Udupi with immediate effect.

In a video message, Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kurma Rao said that the weekend curfew in Udupi has been cancelled with immediate effect, as per the advice of the committee of experts. However, all other Covid restrictions will continue.

He further requested people to take vaccines, wear masks and maintain social distancing in public places. Also, all must postpone their travel between Kerala and Karnataka till October.

The night curfew will continue from 9 pm to 5 am, Pubs shall remain closed. Marriages can have 400 people and cremations/funerals can have 20 people in attendance. The wedding organizers will have to submit an application along with the invitation card to the Tahsildar who will issue passes to the 400 attendees.

Transport facilities are allowed with 100% seating capacity. All places of worship can remain open but must strictly adhere to COVID-19 precautionary protocols.

Cinema theatres will be allowed to open with 50% seating capacity.  Amusement Parks (except water parks) are allowed to function with strict Covid-19 protocol.
