District in-charge min says 7 hospitals in DK to have oxygen units

Beltangady: Dakshina Kannada (DK) district in-charge minister Kota Srinivas Poojary said that seven hospitals in Dakshina Kannada will have oxygen units soon.
Addressing presspersons after laying the foundation stone for the oxygen unit that is proposed to be set up in the taluk government hospital here, Srinivas said that a total of oxygen units will be built in seven hospitals in Dakshina Kannada district.
“This unit will be built at a cost of Rs 82 lakh and would be able to generate 390 liters of oxygen per minute. The government has instructed the concerned to complete the works by June,” added Poojary.
Meanwhile, MLA Harish Poonja, promised to install the new oxygen unit for the benefit of patients at the earliest and said it will soon be dedicated to the public.
MLCs Pratap Simha Nayak and K Harish Kumar, town panchayat president Rajani Kudva, vice president Jayananda Gowda, member Sharat Kumar, tahsildar Mahesh J, taluk panchayat executive officer Kusumadhar, taluk health officer Dr Kalamadhu, taluk hospital administrative medical officer Dr Vidyavathi, and others were present.
