District women congress members protest against fuel price hike

Mangaluru: Dakshina Kannada district women Congress members held a rally here against the Central Government for the hike in fuel prices.
The women’s team led by Mayor Kavitha Sanil took out on a rally by pulling bullock carts and riding bicycles.
The rally was flagged off by was inaugurated by Kannada cine actress Bhavana and MLA J R Lobo.
Addressing the protestors, J R Lobo said, “Price of petrol and diesel has risen. Earlier, when UPA was in power and when the fuel prices were hiked the BJP had protested. The price of one barrel of oil in the international market was $ 140. Today the price has reduced considerably. But the NDA government is constantly increasing the price of fuel,”
The hike has affected the public and has caused inconvenience to the people, PM Narendra Modi-led government should immediately take note of the issue and make sure that people do not suffer,” Lobo said.
Some rode bicycles while others pulled bullock carts to registered their protest during the rally.
