DK and Udupi DC’s declare holiday for schools and PU colleges

Mangaluru/Udupi: Owing to heavy rains, deputy commissioners of both Dakshina Kannada and Udupi districts have declared holiday for schools and PU colleges on August 13th.
Since, past three days, heavy rains have lashed the city. Water-logging situation has been witnessed in various parts of city. Dakshina Kannada received a maximum of 14.9 cm over the last 24 hours.
Due to the heavy rains, Schools and colleges in Dakshina Kannada remained shut also on August 11th. A weather advisory from the Bengaluru centre of Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) said that the heavy rains are likely to continue in the region over the next three days.
