The ban which came into effect from today would remain in force from 6 PM to 6 AM till August 8. But, children below 18 years of age, elderly persons and women have been exempted from the restriction.
Meanwhile, the police have also relaxed the weeklong restrictions that were imposed in the district. Shops have been permitted to remain open till 9 pm for next three days from August 5 onwards and liquor shops can reopen from August 5 till 6pm. Other restrictions imposed under CrPC 144 will continue as earlier till 6 am on August 8.
