Mangaluru: Deputy Commissioner (DC) Dr Rajendra K V declared a holiday to schools on June 30 in Dakshina Kannada due to incessant rains, however, regular classes will continue as usual to the student who have already reached the school.
The DC said, “Heavy rains continue here in Dakshina Kannada district. Students in certain areas will find it difficult to go to schools. The holiday was declared for the safety of such children. Many children in the city areas have already reached school. If they have reached school there is no need to send them back, continue classes as usual.”
The whole district is being battered by heavy downpour due to the low pressure that is developed in Bay of Bengal.
Normal life is thrown out of gear due to the overnight rains.
