Mangaluru: Deputy Commissioner Dr Rajendra KV said that the night and weekend curfew in the Dakshina Kannada district will continue till the end of August.

He added that there are no changes in the curfew guidelines.

Night and weekend curfew was imposed in all border districts by the State government to contain the spread of the COVID-19 infection.

There has not been any information by the government regarding a timeline for the lifting of these curfews. As a result, the DC issued a clarification.

Dr Rajendra said the night curfews between 9 pm and 6 will continue in the district while restaurants and bars must close at 7 pm.

The weekend curfews too will continue till 6 am on August 30, he added.

He did not say whether the curfews will be continued after that.
