DK: Dist admin releases advisory after Red Alert issued for Aug 8 and 9

Mangaluru: The district administration has released an advisory for the residents of the district after the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) issued Red Alert for the district on August 8 and 9.

The advisory states that in view of the Red Alert and Orange Alert issued by the IMD for August 8-9 and 9-10 respectively, all residents are advised not to venture into rivers and the sea, and not to take shelter under trees/electric poles.

It further states that all district and taluk officials must be at their centres and all gram panchayat officials must be within their panchayat limits to be available for the residents in case of any emergencies.

The advisory also shared the numbers 1077 and 9483908000 for any emergencies related to natural disasters during this time.
