DK serial murders: Night-time restrictions extended till Thursday

Mangaluru: The Dakshina Kannada district administration has extended the night-time restrictions in operation in the district by two more days.
The latest order said that closure of commercial establishments from 6 PM to 6 AM till Thursday, August 4 on the request form the police department. However, emergency and essential services including fire, hospitals, and medical shops, among others will remain open.
The restrictions were first imposed by Deputy Commissioner on July 29, in the aftermath of the serial killings in the district.
Earlier on Tuesday, police probing the Fazil murder case arrested six persons and produced them in court. The arrested accused have been identified as Suhas, a resident of Bajpe, Mohan alias Mohan Singh, Deekshith Srinivas, Giridhar and Abhishek, residents of Katipalla.
It is said that Suhas, Mohan and Abhishek killed Fazil using lethal weapons in Suratkal while others helped them execute the plan.
The police have so far arrested seven people, including Ajit Crasta, the getaway car owner in Fazil murder case.
Police also said they have made significant progress in the Praveen Nettaru murder case.
