Bengaluru: With assembly session around the corner, DK Shivakumar’s name is likely to be announced as the next president of Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) on February 29 as per some sources.
The high command is said to have rejected the earlier proposal of the party of creating two separate posts, one for the leader of the Congress legislature party, and the other of the leader of the opposition. The resignation tendered by Siddaramaiah is likely to be rejected as he will continue holding both these posts.
With Rahul Gandhi’s unavailability and national president of the Congress party, Sonia Gandhi being unwell, most of the decisions are currently pending. State Congress in-charge, KC Venugopal is awaiting green signal from Rahul Gandhi for the appointment of Shivakumar upon on his return who is currently on a foreign tour
