DK, Udupi district’s economy to receive big boost with large scale investments

Mangaluru, Udupi: More than 12 projects worth Rs 3,300 crore in investments and expected to generate 5,775 employment opportunities will be implemented in the Dakshina Kannada and Udupi districts soon.

Eight companies are investing in the Dakshina Kannada district in sectors such as packaging, printing, shipping containers, IT, logistics and glass.

While in the Udupi district four companies are investing in food park, paper mill, sunflower and palm oil and biodiesel industries.

“In the Dakshina Kannada and Udupi districts, new investment plans already submitted by some companies have been approved and the implementation is in progress. More than 5,000 jobs are expected to be created in the two districts by these projects,” said Gokuldas Nayak, Joint Director of Industries of DK and Udupi districts.
