Mangaluru: The Dakshina Kannada Co-Op Milk Producers’ Union Limited (DKMUL) has decided to provide 20 millilitres of additional milk on every half litre purchase made by customers from June 1.

The Union has a shortage of storage space for the extra milk that remains unsold due to the lockdown. Hence a decision was taken to provide the extra milk to the customers.

“Presently, the union stores about 5.60 lakh litres of milk. Out of this 1.50 lakh litres of milk is remaining unsold,” said the Union’s president Raviraj Hegde.

“By supplying the additional milk to the customers about 12 thousand litres would be disposed of daily,” he added.
