Bengaluru: Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee President DK Shivakumar on Monday appealed to the people of the state to notify him through social media if private hospitals are overcharging them for covid related medical facilities.

Taking to Twitter, DKS said, ” Unfortunate that people battling Covid are also bearing the brunt of exorbitant bills from hospitals brazenly violating Hon. SC rules. This has to be stopped. Anyone facing this, tag me on Twitter & Facebook, I shall ensure the matter is looked into & action taken.”

The KPCC President also attached the price of Covid services fixed by the government on the directions of the Supreme Court.

Shivakumar said, ” The Karnataka Government is patronizing a large racket of hospitals and service providers who are over-pricing their facilities. This is sheer profiteering at a time when humanity is battling a pandemic and it is criminal to say the least. It is painful to watch the  misery of poor people.”

He further lashed out at BJP government for turning a blind towards the misery of people and also said that the Chief Minister of the state remains ‘unaffected’ & ‘unbothered’.
