Coimbatore/Bengaluru: BJP Tamil Nadu unit President Tamilisai Soundararajan on Tuesday, December 25 said that DMK chief MK Stalin should clarify whether he has taken up the Mekedatu reservoir issue with Congress President Rahul Gandhi.
She also asked why Stalin and state Congress president S Thirunavukkarasar have not met and held discussions with the Karnataka Chief Minister over the issue.
“Has Stalin discussed the issue with Congress president Rahul Gandhi and if yes, what is the outcome. Stalin should make DMK’s stand clear on the issue,” she told reporters here.
Karnataka’s proposal to construct a reservoir at Mekedatu has come been condemned by parties including in Tamil Nadu with the DMK recently staging a protest in Tiruchirapally, the heart of the Cauvery delta.
She said that north Indian film industry had thanked the central government for bringing down the GST on film tickets, but the south industry, particularly Tamil Nadu failed even to acknowledge it.
