Dog leotards – an inspired solution to keep pet hair off your furniture

Dogs. Such noble creatures; descended from the wolves, they live alongside humans as our loyal companions, fully earning the title ‘man’s best friend’.

So what if they occasionally moult and leave a bit of hair around the place? That’s a small price to pay for the countless ways they serve us. And yet… And yet maybe, just maybe, it’d be a good idea to dress your dog up in a ridiculous leotard.

No more irksome hair on the furniture, and you’d get to have a jolly good laugh at your dog’s expense, as you see him bounding about the place like a four-legged Freddy Mercury.

This snazzy item of canine clothing, known as the Shed Defender, is the work of one TysonWalters.

He was inspired to create it by his dog Harley, after be moved home following his studies at San Diego State University.

“I needed a solution to control Harley’s hair; it was everywhere,” he says. “I had tumble weeds of her hair on my hardwood floors. My car was close to ruined because of all the hair intertwined in the fabric.  There was nothing I could do, just brush and brush and brush, and yet that still wasn’t enough.

“I came up with the idea and had my mom started sewing the Shed Defender; needless to say, it was time to hire a professional. I took the next step in hiring a seamstress and started making prototypes.

“The outcome has evolved into a flawless design that is not only effective, but also allows for a comfortable fit for the dog. It is now finally complete and I couldn’t be happier with the results.”
