Bengaluru: The Department of Pre-University Education (DPUE) has decided to relax mandatory class attendance rules for second year pre-university college (PUC) students appearing for the examinations this year.
The move comes as many students could not attend the online classes during the lockdown period due to myriad issues and many still are not attending the offline classes due to fear of contracting the virus.
As per the Karnataka Education Act, 2006 to be eligible to appear for PUC-I, undergraduate, postgraduate and diploma courses’ final examinations, students must have 75 per cent attendance failing which they must re-admit into the course.
