Dr Alok Mohan appointed as Karnataka DGP

Bengaluru: Karnataka government has appointed Dr Alok Mohan to be the next Karnataka DGP.
He will replace Praveen Sood, who has been appointed the Director of CBI.
Dr Alok Mohan is an IPS of 1987 batch of the Karnataka Cadre.
Alok Mohan has been serving as the DGP and commandant-general of home guards, director of civil defence, director-general of fire and emergency services and state disaster management.
He had been the top contender for the post of Karnataka police chief after Praveen Sood was appointed the CBI director.
