Dr Bhujang Shetty of Narayana Nethralaya is no more

Bengaluru: Renowned opthalmologist and Chairman and MD of Narayana Nethralaya Dr. K Bhujang Shetty passed away on May 19.
Dr. Shetty reportedly suffered a massive heart attack on Friday evening after he had returned home from attending patients at the hospital. He was rushed to a private hospital in Yashvantpur, but could not be saved.
According to Narayana Nethralaya, Dr. Shetty was an alumnus of Bangalore Medical College where he did his MBBS in 1978 and later his ophthalmology residency at Minto Ophthalmic Hospital, Bangalore Medical College in 1982. He began his ophthalmology practice in a small clinic in the eighties. He was responsible for the transformation of Narayana Nethralaya from a small clinic into the largest super specialty eye hospital in Karnataka.
