Dr. D. Veerendra Heggade sets record for ‘Largest Single-Man Collection of Antiques’

Belthangady: Dr. D. Veerendra Heggade, Dharmadhikari of Sri Kshetra Dharmasthala and a revered advocate of cultural preservation has been recognized by the India Book of Records for curating the ‘Largest Single-Man Diverse Collection of Antiques’.

This prestigious honor, presented on Dr. Heggade’s 76th birthday, highlights his extraordinary efforts over the past 50 years to safeguard India’s heritage. The Manjusha Museum in Dharmasthala, home to his collection, showcases 7,500 palm-leaf manuscripts, 21,000 art objects, 25,000 rare and old books, and over 100 vintage automobiles.

The recognition was officially presented on November 25, marking a milestone in his illustrious journey.

Dr. Heggade’s birthday was celebrated across the state with heartfelt wishes pouring in from dignitaries and admirers alike. Adding to the festive atmosphere, the Lakshadeepotsava celebrations are set to commence on November 26 at Dharmasthala, bringing joy and grandeur to the region.
