Dr. P S Harsha appointed new Mangaluru Police Commissioner

Mangaluru: The state government, through a notification issued on Monday, August 5 appointed Dr P S Harsha as the new city police commissioner and Arunaansh Giri as the DCP Law and Order.
Earlier on August 1 the government had issued a notification ordering transfer of Sandeep Patil, who was the city police commissioner DIG & Joint commissioner of police, crimes, Bengaluru city with immediate effect and named Dr Subramanyeswara Rao as his successor. However his appointment was cancelled later.
Harsha, an IPS officer of 2004 batch has earlier served as Director of Karnataka State Tourism Development Corporation, Department of Information and Public Relations among others. He has also served as assistant superintendent of police earlier in Puttur.
Arunaansh who was serving as the Dy.SP of Karkala will take charge as the DCP Law and Order. It may be recalled that Hanumantharaya was transferred as SP of Davangere District as per August 1 notification of government.
