Mandya: Mandya BJP candidate Dr.Siddaramaiah has filed a complaint against former Congress leader Belur Gopalakrishna for allegedly sreading rumours among the voters.
Dr Siddaramaiah alleged that Belur Gopalkrishna was creating confusion among people by claiming that Siddaramaiah is mulling retirement from politics. Post Gopalkrishna’s remarks, on Friday, Dr Siddaramaiah was hassled by several calls enquiring if the so called news held any truth.
Stating that he is not aware of who Belur Gopalkrishna was, Dr Siddaramaiah said that comments made by the former hinting that he may be interested to switch his loyalty towards the Congress-JD(S) government did not hold any truth. “Even if I were to quit BJP, I will not join hands with the opposition party,” he said.
He approached the Deputy Commissioner and urged him to initiate strict action against Belur Gopalkrishna for misleading people especially when model code of conduct was in force. He further informed that he has decided to file a defamation case against Belur Gopalakrishna.
