Drug trafficker arrested in Udupi: MDMA and charas worth Rs 3.25 lakh seized

Udupi: The Udupi Town Police have arrested a drug trafficker and seized MDMA and Charas worth Rs 3,25,330, along with other items, during an operation near the Mahatma Gandhi Open Air Auditorium at Beedanagudde in Shivalli village, Udupi taluk.
The operation was conducted under the leadership of Udupi Sub-Division DySP Prabhu D.T. and Udupi Town Station Inspector Ramachandra Nayak. The team included Sub-Inspector Puneet Kumar and personnel Suresh, Basheer, Hemant, Rajesh, Vinay, Anand, and Shiv Kumar.
The accused, identified as Nagaraj (25), son of Mallesh from Uppoor, Brahmavar, was caught red-handed while attempting to sell prohibited drugs MDMA powder and Charas from a motorcycle at a public location.
Seized Items:
MDMA: 49.46 grams, valued at ₹2,50,000/-
Charas: 3.86 grams, valued at ₹3,500/-
Motorcycle (KA-51-AB-7901): Estimated value ₹50,000/-
Two mobile phones: Estimated value ₹22,000/-
The total value of the seized items is ₹3,25,330. A case has been registered at Udupi Town Police Station under Crime No. 1/2025, citing Section 22(b) of the NDPS Act, 1985.
The police continue their investigations to identify further connections in the drug trafficking network.
